Hi Everyone! How are you all doing? I am going to jump right into it today, because I am so excited to share with you one of Fragments' newest designers, Susan Hanover. There are not enough words to describe how fun, chic and cool Susan's jewelry is. It's fresh, it's exciting and we should all own one or two pieces from her. We're especially in love with her bold cuffs, use of color and chunky mixed metal chains, often intertwined with crystals. DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: ANTON HEUNIS

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday!

I am so excited to have had the opportunity to sit down with one of Fragments' most fabulous fashion jewelry designers, Anton Heunis. The amazing Anton, born in South Africa, is now settled in Madrid where his talent combined with extraordinary craftsmanship produces some of the boldest, most fun jewelry around. His use of color is stunning, his shapes and proportions are exciting and his designs are constantly evolving. He never ceases to amaze us. And not only does he create beautiful jewelry, he is also a very warm, wonderful and fun person. I had a chance to ask him my favorite 20 questions, and boy did he have fun with them. We absolutely love his answers and hope they give you a bit of insight into our beloved Anton Heunis:

1. What is your greatest indulgence? Fudge and Fois gras(although not together)
2. Tell me your biggest fear.
the return of the austere minimalism of the 1990's- I know it was all about a reaction of the OTT 80's but it was just so boring...!
3. Your favorite red carpet moment of all time?
I am split between two... Liz Hurly wearing the safety-pin Versace dress to the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral in 1994- if a red carpet ever had a lasting impact- then it was then ...and of course Audrey Hepburn with that White, belted flower patterned Givenchy dress she wore when she received the Oscar for Best actress in 1954 for roman Holiday- I loooove Audrey
4. Your most treasured piece of jewelry, and why?
My great grandfather had been separated from my great grandmother when he'd been a prisoner of war on an island off the coast of Africa. During this time he carved two little brooches with a pen knife, one in bone & one in ivory. These have been my most treasured possessions ever since I discovered them in my mother's jewelry box
5. White gold, yellow gold or mix it all up?
Depends on the piece and my mood
6. Who is your favorite fictional character?
I do like Barbarella...
7. Your greatest love is…
my beloved partner and husband of course
8. Who is your hero?
superficial me: Audrey Hepburn
intellectual me :Nelson Mandela

9. Who is your favorite jewelry designer? (other than Anton Heunis)
Costume: Elsa Schiaparelli
Fine...difficult, but think I would have to go for Cartier- but the Cartier that designed for the maharajas, not the one that makes mass produced eternity rings...
10. Who do you most admire, alive or deceased?
Alive: Nelson Mandela
Deceased: Mozart

11. Your favorite movie?
Les Parapluies de Cherbourg( The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) by Jacques Demy- staring a very young Catherine Deneuve
12. Newspapers & magazines: print or online?
Definitely print for leisure reading. online for communication & instant information.
13. Your favorite ice cream flavor?
I recently bought this high tech ice-cream machine so my favorites are changing daily depending my creativity
Peanut butter & banana... marshmallow vanilla &dulce de leche... but I have started making savory ones- tomato sorbet or parmesan cream- they are amazing as a starter for a summer meal!
14. Facebook or Twitter?
FB every time.
15. Style icon?
...it has to be Audrey Hepburn
16. If you could design a piece of jewelry right now, based on your current mood and surroundings, what would it be?
Spain has just beaten Germany in the semifinals in the world cup- so it would probably end up looking like a Swarovski encrusted vuvuzuela in red and yellow....
17. Black or white?
Black or White or black... or white...grey?? depends on my mood.
18. The best part of New York City is
I love New York, the energy, the shopping ,the amazing restaurants... I don't have a best part-I have many... to shop for gifts, I would say Henri Bendel, to shop for myself...Barneys and to eat Thomas Keller's Per Se
19. Tell me your greatest asset and your biggest flaw.
Asset= chaotic perfectionist
Flaw= chaotic perfectionist

20. If you could have any piece from Fragments, what would it be?
I have so much jewellery that I would have to choose a dinner date with all the lovely girls at fragments (Rob is also invited )

You can catch a glimpse of Anton's jewelry here on Fragments.com, and learn more about the designer and his collections on his official site. Please feel free to call us if you are interested or have any questions! We hope you love Anton as much as we do!

FRAGMENTS FACEBOOK: Giveaway # 3

Hi everyone!

We were super excited today that we hit 1,500 fans on Facebook and could give away the beautiful Azaara earrings that we promised we would when we reached 1,500. How exciting for Tina Becker, our winner! We can't wait to see her reaction when she realizes that she won. Congratulations Tina!!!

Now it's time to announce our NEXT giveaway, because we want to show our Fragments fans how much we love and appreciate them. So.... when we reach 2,000 fans, we're going to give away these coveted Rodrigo Otazu earrings as seen on Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) in Sex & The City 2 premiere. These are the earrings she wore, from the very same designer - in the scene where she is in a purple halter, and telling her gal pals about the offer to travel Abu Dhabi.

Retailing for $325, these are simply a pair of earrings you do NOT want to miss out on. Serious glam for all of your looks and MAJOR drama to add to your collection. We absolutely LOVE them and can't wait for someone to win them. So, keep spreading the word because the sooner we reach 2,000 fans, the faster we can give these beauties away. You can become our fan right here.

Have a fabulous afternoon!

FRAGMENTS DOES SEX & THE CITY 2

All of us here at Fragments are huge Sex & The City fans and have been eagerly anticipating opening night of Sex & The City 2 - especially since one of our designers, Rodrigo Otazu, has jewelry very prominently featured in the film. One of our girls here went to see it at 12:01 this morning - she simply couldn't wait - and arrived two hours early!

Of course she has quite a review and I am thrilled to share it with you...

Sex & The City 2 is sexy, decadent, over the top and insanely fun. Every moment is glamorous, the fashion is iconic, even the pajamas are gorgeous. The men are immaculate and it goes without saying that our favorite fiersome foursome (Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte & Miranda) is on fire. The women have never looked better. The hair, the makeup, their facial expressions and countless one liners - that only these women could get away with - are spectacular.

*Carrie Bradshaw in Rodrigo Otazu necklace. To special order this, please e-mail dgadi@fragments.com

While there is no particular strong plot line, this movie is a girls night out in it of itself. The colors are a rainbow of fun, the settings (Abu Dhabi, which is really Morocco, and of course NYC) are breathtaking - right down to Carrie & Big's apartment. The apartment, which took a cue from our style icon Carrie, is dressed to the nines - down to the couch that they waited 14 months for.

The chemistry between the women is stronger than ever. They have such a beautiful camaraderie - moments of total distress and others of extreme excitement & happiness - they do it all so well together.

The fashion. Ahhh, the fashion. It goes beyond words. Each outfit, dress, pair of shoes - all have their own moments. The dresses flow, the jewelry is drop dead gorgeous, the shoes are sky high and there is NO such thing as "too much." If you claim to be even the least bit "fashionista" - you cannot miss this film. It will make you smile, cry, laugh hysterically - and hyperventilate over the infinite amount of shoes and designer duds that you will be seriously coveting for months, if not years after.

Oh and we forgot to mention the sheer madness and chaos that the girls cause in Abu Dhabi. Let's leave it at that. You'll simply have to see it to witness it for yourselves...

AND - if you have already seen it - drop us your comments, we're dying to know what you think.

xoxo - have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend - and make sure a visit to the movie theater is on your schedule!

Seriously Fabulous Jewels at CINER

Yesterday, two of our Fragments girls visited CINER to do a bit of shopping for our store and boy was it an exciting experience. Their jewelry is BEYOND fantastic - so fresh, new, inspiring and super chic. Endless options for layering mixed metal chains, crystals in all different sizes and of course our favorite - an ode to the military trend. Feminine details like sweet ribbon in pastels mixed with chunky chain - it was all to die for.

The girls even snapped a few shots of what is to come and I simply cannot resist showing them to you....

Amazing, isn't it? So much fun. We love CINER and can't wait to get all the goodies in our store.
Have a great weekend!
xoxo,
Janet
